# Using the Agent Library

## What are agents?

WRITER helps you make a greater impact at work, no matter what kind of work you do. Whether you’re a researcher doing competitive analysis, a marketer checking language for legal compliance, a customer support representative trying to answer tickets, or any other type of role, you’re trying to achieve a certain outcome at work. **Agents** are AI that you can **direct** to help you achieve those outcomes quickly and accurately.

AI agents can do anything from research, analysis, web search, translation, even code generation - they’re just waiting for your data and requirements.

Agents are a great place to get started with WRITER, because you don't need any technical expertise or AI experience to begin using them right away.

WRITER offers a variety of types of agents:

- prebuilt agents you'll find in our Agent Library

- custom agents built by WRITER

- agents made by your very own colleagues in [AI Studio](https://support.writer.com/article/259-creating-custom-apps-in-ai-studio).

## How to access the Agent Library

### _Navigating the Agent Library_

On the left sidebar, select an **Industry** from the dropdown menu to view industry-specific agents and collections. (Not in one of our core industries? Select _All Industries_.)

Below the Industry menu, you can select a **Function** to find agents specific to a particular role within that Industry.

On the right side of the Agent Library, you'll view **collections**: curated groups of purpose-built agents meant to superpower your work. Select a collection to view the agents inside.

## How to use an agent

Select the **star** to add an agent to your Favorites,

Select **Preview** to learn what an agent does, what inputs it requires, and what capabilities and models it uses.

Select **Open** to begin using the agent.

Fill out the required fields and select **Generate content**.

Within moments, WRITER will produce an **output** on the right side of the screen.

Select **Generate content** again if you'd like to generate another draft. You'll be able to review all drafts by scrolling down the left panel.

Select the **suggestions score** on the right sidebar to open up the suggestions sidebar. Use this sidebar to check your output against your company’s AI guardrails, to make sure you’re compliant and on brand. _Accessing previous outputs_

From the WRITER Home screen, select **My work** and the **Outputs** tab to access all of your previous outputs from various agents.

Select the ••• three dot menu on the right sidebar to use an output in a new doc, copy it to your clipboard, or delete it from the My work tab entirely.

Select the ••• menu to the right of the doc name to open the doc menu:

- Share this doc with another user (by default, docs are **private** to the user who created them - even from org admins)

- Download the doc

- Delete the doc

- Revert to a previous version of the doc

## FAQs

### Who can access the docs and drafts I create?

By default, all of your docs and outputs are **private**, even to org admins.

### How can I share a doc with someone else?

Select the ••• three dot menu to the right of the doc title, select **Share** and give access to select teammates.

### Q: How does WRITER generate content?

WRITER uses a very large AI deep learning model trained to generate text. The out-of-the-box model is trained on over 300 billion parameters derived from a mix of publicly available data from the Internet and data licensed from third parties.
